Is self-esteem motivation a problem and where is its place in self-determination continuum? Is it subtype of introjected regulation (Sheldon et al., 2017) or more autonomous identified regulation? The results of two studies (total N=922) on students’ academic motivation using MDS, CFA and SEM show quite new and intriguing findings on self-esteem motivation and its place in autonomy continuum.
