  The gut microbiota is the focus of the 7th International Yakult Symposium, with expert speakers presenting the latest findings about the microbiota's genomics and physiology, as well as the dynamic, metabolic and immunological aspects of its interaction with the host in the context of health and disease. Related to this, the potential influence of probiotics on the composition and function of the microbiota will also be discussed.
